"The Catcher in the Rye" Redesign

A package set of J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher In The Rye" along with Holden Caulfield's own personal interactive 41 page diary. Re-designed book jacket & analyzed the novel to create a diary that represented Holden's thoughts and memories from his time spent at Pencey Preparatory school and in New York City.  Hand done illustration, typography, and own photography combined with found photography from the 1950's. I also branded all of the places Holden visited such as the Pencey Prep. logo & letterhead, Edmont Hotel logo and matchbook, The Lavender Room logo and business card, the Broadway Theater logo and ticket stub, Little Shirley Beans record cover, Museum of Natural History logo and ticket stub, train ticket stub, Ernie's piano bar flyer etc. I created all of Holden's nostalgia by researching 1950's typography,  giving the book an authentic look and feel.
